John 21:17

The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"

Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep."

Inner light and life

Thomas R. Kelly wrote:

God the Lover,
the Accuser
the Revealer of light and darkness
presses within us.
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock."
And all our apparent initiative is already a response,
A testimonial to his secret presence and working within us.

In these times of confusion and disinformation, we need more than ever to listen to the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit as we choose who to believe and how to act. May God grant that we hear His voice.

"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven."
—Matthew 7:21
